Education and experience:
– Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and /or equivalent professional experience;
– Previous Internships in Finance Departments or Credit &Risk Departments is a plus;
– A Professional certificate in Financial Accounting, CFA, /FRM or any relevant professional certification is a plus;
– TOEFL/IELTS languages test proficiency are essential;
– At least 3 years of experience in similar position (working experience on Credit risk assessment and structuring of loans, guarantees, banking products…).
Knowledge:
– Good understanding of financial statements (Balance Sheet, income Statements, Cash flow analysis…);
– Good analytical skills /accounting skills /knowledge in risk analysis;
– Strong understanding of business entity legal structures, risk rating, and financial statement ratio analysis;
– Ability to locate and use relevant industry analysis;
– Excellent computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, …) and experience with proprietary bank software and Microsoft Office;
– Proficiency in English (essential), French and Arabic.
Personal Attributes and Soft skills:
– Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills (English is a must);
– Self-motivated, able to work well with a team;
– Great attention to details;
– Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
– Acquisition, spreading & analyzing financial statement data and interpreting the repayment capacity of borrowers;
– Evaluating the credit worthiness of potential and existing clients and determined eligibility for financing;
– Ensuring credit analysts effectively perform a thorough analysis of the counterparty as well as the transaction and providing an independent view and recommendation;
– Preparing financing proposal highlighting strengths, key risk factors and mitigation of risk exposure of the proposal;
– Ensuring active management of credit risk and that all major risks are continually identified, mitigated, monitored and controlled;
– Assessing the quality and completeness of all relevant data and information needed to analyze new and existing transactions;
– Drafting Credit Notes based on independent credit assessment submitted by the Wholesale Banking Department to local credit committee and Head Office credit committee;
– Preparing credit submission packages, identifying key risks within transactions and relationships, discussing and defending risk related recommendations;
– Performing analysis on diverse types of collateral / security proposed;
– Checking compliance with different approval covenants, conditions and aspects related to guarantee and security in line with the bank policy;
– Detecting the weaknesses of the credit proposal and suggesting the appropriate credit enhancements / Assist lenders in determining the most appropriate loan structure;
– Proposing the risk rating of the relationship as per the scoring bank model / system;
– Liaising and collecting any relevant information from Corporate-FI and Legal departments to ensure comprehensiveness of the credit package;
– Contributing with macroeconomic analyses and research on sector/ industry trends;
– Insuring loan packages are complete according to bank policy and CBT directives.
