Bank ABC is reinforcing its Credit Management Department with the recruitment of a Retail Credit Officer.

The Retail Credit Officer will be working closely with the Head of Retail Credit and liaising with  Head of Retail, Head of Branches, Branch Managers, Credit Admin and Operations and Legal counsels in order to minimize the risk & conduct credit checks.

1- Principal Responsibilities & Accountabilities: 

  • Retail files assessment and approvals.
  • Ensure full adherence to Group Retail Credit Policy, CBT regulation, and Product Programs’ terms and conditions.
  • Maintain an accurate retail data base for: approvals, declines, pending files, deviations, corporate offers, approved TMLs.
  • Sticking to pre-agreed processing time of loan applications part of SLA with HRDB.
  • Process retail CAFs (outside of Product programs).
  • Assisting the Retail Credit Risk Management Unit in providing statistical information and early warning signals.
  • Ensure the classification and archiving of retail files.
  • Respect of delays in approval and enhancement of the turn-around times (per SLA with Business Heads).

  • Enhancement of retail CAFs: application outside Product Programs.
  • Respect of current procedures & Full compliance with Unit & Group Retail Credit Policy and Standards.
  • Improvement of synergy and cooperation within the Business Unit.
  • Help Local ORM Department to organize and facilitate the implementation and proper functioning of the ABC framework for the management of operational risks applicable to Retail Credit and Risk.
  • Maintain full independence when providing credit decisions.
  • Liaise with local Retail Credit Risk Unit on an ongoing basis.
  • Detect any warning signals due to deteriorating market conditions and recommend corrective actions to senior Management in Business and Risk.

2- Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree or equivalent in Business / Finance or any relevant field. 
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Banking experience in Retail Banking or Retail Credit & Risk.

4- Knowledge: 

  • Good knowledge of some financial ratios, market practices, competition (peer banks), legal and administrative aspects.
  • Full understanding of Group Retail Credit Policy and Standards and local regulatory environment.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Expert knowledge in commercial law for matters related to securities, collaterals and insurance.
  • Good level of English, French and Arabic.
