Role Overview

This position forms part of the local senior management and HR team to support the delivery and embedment of our group HR & People Strategies.  The purpose of this senior management role is to lead and manage Human Resources services for the Tunis Bulgin site, ensuring consistency with group HR Strategy and in line with local best practices.  The role will cover all generalist aspects of HR whilst initially focusing on developing talent management, performance and recognition programmes.

 The Senior HR Manager will lead HR strategic Initiatives and objectives that will support an employee-oriented high performance culture that emphases quality, productivity, goal attainment.

 The role requires a versatile, diverse and experienced HR generalist who has a proven successful record of leading and delivering all aspects of HR and people management programmes with dedication and passion, whilst keeping abreast with changes in local employment legislation to ensure compliance. Experience of working as part of a Global HR function is highly desirable.

The Senior HRM/D will be a highly confidential individual with proven experience of business partnering at an executive level (including C-suite).

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Tunisia key people strategies (Talent management, performance management, reward and recognition and employee engagement) aligned to the business objectives and global HR strategic initiatives.
  • Create and execute HR plans to ensure HR strategies are executed effectively
  • Ensure robust talent management strategies and procedures are in place to support career development and succession planning.
  • Lead local site workforce planning and capability reviews, ensuring that any identified gaps are addressed through resourcing or development activities.
  • Working with UK HR to support transformational and cultural change programmes
  • Support and coach the management team on all people leadership matters, including business change and transformation.
  • Forming strong relationships with the management team to be able to challenge and coach in a high performance environment.
  • Partner with the local management team to project manage organisational and procedural changes within the business area.
  • Be responsible for all Tunis site HR management and development (including recruitment and selection policy/practices, discipline, grievance, mentoring, salary and conditions, contracts, training and development, talent management, succession planning, driving performance appraisals and any other HR related issues).
  • Work with UK HRBP to regularly review the company’s talent management processes within the business areas, including performance/potential management, resource planning and succession planning.
  • Where necessary, work in partnership on projects to aid continuous improvement and implement improvement programmes (e.g. changes to working practices, organisation changes and business “excellence” or lean programmes).
  • Manage and develop a small HR department to ensure quality services and advice are provided in line with best practice.
  • Liaise with Directors and Managers to understand their HR requirements and ensure they are fully informed of the corporate HR strategy.
  • Work with the General Manager and HR Operations Manager to ensure good communications with the site union.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a HR generalist in a senior role (7+ years).
  • People management experience is essential to mentor and develop existing HR team.
  • Formal HRM qualification
  • Experience of designing and delivering learning and development and talent management programmes
  • Excellent Knowledge of local employment law
  • Experience of report writing utilising excel, word and power point
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Experience of using HR Information Systems (ideally sage)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Recruitment and Selection experience
  • Ability to innovate to create and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience of designing and writing HR policies, procedures, offers and contracts of employment
  • Knowledge of Tunisian payroll
  • Experience of using and developing HRIS systems (ideally sage)
