As an IT Support you will smooth operation of computer systems and ensure users get maximum benefit from them. You will install and configure computer hardware and provide IT support for the organization. You may be expected to be on call and work beyond your shift to get the job done. You will be dealing directly with employees/customers who have technical issues such as viruses and email issues, forgotten passwords and other technical issues.
An ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science or engineering. You will have experience troubleshooting systems and be skilled in database programming and software installation. In addition, you will be familiar with a range of software and hardware.
Responsibilities for Service Desk Agent
Install and configure hardware and software components
Walk colleagues or clients through steps to help them resolve their technical problems.
Upgrade systems to enable compatible software
Analyze records and logs to spot underlying trends and potential issues.
Log bugs and enhancement requests
Test and evaluate new technology
Perform tests on new hardware and software
Define software, hardware and network requirements
Establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Qualifications for Service Desk Agent
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or related field, preferred
0-2 years of experience in a similar role
Experience troubleshooting systems
Skilled in database programming and software installation
Excellent written and oral communication skills (French & English)
Familiar with a range of software and hardware
