An EHS manager in industrial company holds a crucial role in ensuring the company complies with environmental regulations, maintains a safe workplace, and promotes health and safety practices. Their responsibilities typically include:

Developing and implementing policies: environment regulations, occupational health, and safety standards

Compliance monitoring: with local and international environment regulations and safety standards, Obtain, update, or maintain plans, permits, or standard operating procedures.

Risk assessment and mitigation: identifying potential hazards and risks in the workplace , conducting risk assessments, and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks to prevent accidents or environmental harm, review plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.

Training and education: Providing training programs for employees to promote safety awareness, proper handling of equipment, emergency procedures and environmental protection measures

Incident investigation: investigating accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine the root cause and implementing corrective actions to prevent similar occurrences in the future

Environmental management: overseeing initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental impact, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability efforts.

Emergency readiness: developing emergency response plans and procedures to handle potential environmental emergencies or workplace incidents

Collaboration and reporting: collaborating with various departments to ensure safety and environmental considerations are integrated into all aspects of operations. Also preparing and submitting regulatory reports as required.

Continuous improvement in EHS performance, fostering a culture of safety, and identifying opportunities to enhance environment al sustainability.
Qualification required:

Master’s degree in Environment health and safety or a related field

Good experience minimum of 5years in industrial field,

Regulatory knowledge in local and international environmental, health and safety regulations applicable to the MedTech, industry

Risk assessment skills

Strong communication and training skills

Strong Leadership qualities to implement and oversee EHS policies, procedures and initiatives as well as to drive a culture of safety and environmental responsibilities throughout the organization

Analytical skills related to EHS performance

Fluent in English
