Ekuity Capital formerly known as the Tunisian-Kuwaiti Consortium of Development (CTKD), was established in 1976 initially to promote the Tunisian hospitality and tourism sector and expanded its activities over the last couple of decades.
The company is now considered one of the largest diversified investment institutions in Tunisia and has currently significant ownership interests in a portfolio of over 15 companies.
The opportunity
We are seeking to hire a highly motivated Associate to join our investment department. The incumbent shall drive value creation of Ekuity Capital’s investment opportunities and portfolio companies.
Your responsibilities
§ Assist in managing junior team members providing guidance and assistance.
§ Provide support to senior team members in carrying out the various phases of the investment process.
§ Assist the investment team in deal sourcing & evaluation.
§ Act as a key member of deal teams and carry out assigned duties.
§ Carry out & coordinate the due diligence and valuation process in coordination with senior members of the team.
§ Identify external experts needed during the investment process.
§ Conduct industry research, collect data and perform financial modeling.
§ Contribute to market screening efforts and prepare reports.
§ Draft deal memorandums and other related documentation throughout the different stages of the investment process.
§ Contribute to portfolio monitoring: define key metrics, analyze financial statements and follow up on exit strategies.
§ Provide support in divestment/deal exits: screen for potential buyers & carry out analysis to compare exit strategies.
§ Provide assistance & expertise to investee companies to improve performance, achieve growth and manage transformation.
§ Prepare reports & presentations of investment opportunities for discussion/validation by the Investment Committees (executive & board) as well as the Board of Directors.
§ Develop & maintain relationships with EC’s stakeholders, potential partners and the investment community such as PE firms, funds, asset managers, investment banks, advisory firms, businesses etc.
§ Participate in national conferences and other networking events.
§ To qualify for the role, you must have
§ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or related field from a leading university.
§ At least 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, asset management or transaction services.
§ Advanced financial, valuation, modeling & analytical skills and strong capacity for synthesis.
§ Strong knowledge of the Tunisian economic & business landscape.
§ Ability to carry out multiple workflows / tasks under high pressure and tight deadlines.
§ Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Arabic and French.
