Overview of Role:

A copywriter in the apparel industry plays a crucial role in crafting compelling and persuasive written content to promote and sell clothing and accessories. The primary objective is to create engaging product descriptions, marketing materials, and brand messaging that resonates with the target audience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Content Creation:
    • Craft compelling and on-brand copy for a variety of promotional apparel products, including descriptions, taglines, and product narratives.
    • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that written content complements and enhances the visual elements of promotional materials.
  • Brand Voice Development:
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a consistent and authentic brand voice across all written communications.
    • Ensure that copy aligns with the brand’s values, resonates with the target audience, and maintains a cohesive identity.
  • Product Descriptions (Main priority):
    • Write clear, concise, and persuasive product descriptions that highlight key features and benefits of promotional apparel items.
    • Tailor product copy to appeal to specific target markets and customer segments.
  • Marketing Campaigns:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop copy for various campaigns, including email marketing, social media, and advertising materials.
    • Create engaging and effective copy that drives customer engagement and supports overall marketing objectives.
  • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
    • Work closely with the design, merchandising, and marketing teams to align copy with visual elements and promotional strategies.
    • Incorporate feedback from various stakeholders to refine and improve copy.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a copywriter, preferably in the apparel or fashion industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt writing style to different brand personas.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
