Bank ABC is reinforcing its teams with the recruitment of a Local Data Protection Coordinator.
The Local Data Protection Coordinator should be able to articulate data protection related issues and risks and have meaningful discussions with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. They should keep sight of the “big picture” of overall trends in the field of data protection in the financial industry.
I Principal Responsibilities of the Role:
– Drafting and managing, the Register of Processing Activities (“ROPA”) with relevant departments.
– Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of operations and projects and related personal data processing to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and the Bank’s Data Protection Framework, and where necessary, advising on and monitoring data protection privacy impact assessments.
– Serving as the primary point of contact for data protection queries for Bank ABC Tunisia and with external authorities, where applicable.
– Reviewing vendor contracts and other third-party data processing and data sharing arrangements in partnership with Bank ABC’s Procurement and Legal functions.
– Managing and conducting ongoing reviews of Bank ABC’s privacy governance framework including the intra-group Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and regular and ad hoc reporting on data privacy compliance within the organization.
– Monitoring changes to local data protection laws and making recommendations to the Group Data Protection Officer, when appropriate.
– Setting standards and reviewing policies and procedures to meet the localization requirements.
– Developing and delivering training to various business functions and collaborating with the Group Data Protection Officer to raise employee awareness of data protection.
– Developing data protection strategies and initiatives to ensure engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.
– Coordinating, conducting, and monitoring data protection audits.
– Collaborating with the Information Technology function to maintain records of all personal data related data assets and exports, and maintaining a personal data breach playbook to ensure timely remediation of incidents impacting personal data including impact assessments, breach response, complaints, claims or notifications.
– Ensuring that the Bank’s IT systems and procedures comply with all relevant data protection laws and the Bank’s Data Protection Framework , (including in relation to the retention and destruction of data).
– Provide Assurance against the Bank’s compliance with regards to all the above points.
– Reporting to the Local Operational Resilience Committee and participating in other Committees (as relevant).
– Carrying out “ad hoc” activities related to Data Protection and/or Retention as directed by Group Data Protection Lead and/or Group/Local Senior Management.
II Job Requirements:
1- Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
– Hold at least one data protection and/or privacy certification, such as:
– CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional),
– CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist),
– CIPM and others.
2- Knowledge:
– Must demonstrate awareness of changes to the threat landscape and fully comprehend how emerging technologies will impact the management and protection of personal data.
– Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the bank.
– Very Good written & verbal English language
– Knowledge of PC applications, including MS Office.
3- Experience:
– Relevant experience in data protection in the financial industry, supported by:
– Practical working experience security, compliance, legal, risk management or data management;
– Demonstrable understanding of the data protection regulatory environment that applies to Bank ABC Group;
– Relevant knowledge of information security and information technology risk;
– 3 to 5 years Data Protection experience (direct experience working on data protection as part of their role).
– 8 to10 years Banking Experience.
