The Press and CNC Shop forms an essential part of the manufacturing process. These areas and its staff ensure that all parts are made in accordance with the production schedule meaning that the assembly area and direct customers receive their parts on time and to a high standard of quality.
Exigences de l'emploi
Duties Include:
- Schedule the Press and CNC Shop production
- Ensure tooling is available for the coming week and schedule the Toolmaker’s workload to accommodate this.
- Responsible for all Press and CNC Shop staff including training, motivation, timekeeping, attendance and wellbeing.
- Ensure all staff are fully aware of their daily duties and are directed to the most important work
- The running and setting of power presses
- Setting D1 weld heads
- The running and setting of CNC machines
- Ensure daily production targets are met
- Responsible for the ordering of Press and CNC Shop consumables (oil, cleaning equipment, PPE etc) and their stock control via procurement
- Ensure IFS production and scrap records are maintained
- The use of a pedestrian forklift
- Aiding with the de-bugging of new tooling.
- The improvement of existing tooling.
- Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to.
- To read and interpret technical drawings.
- Always look to improve production output, quality and processes
- Ensure all company procedures are followed.
- Create drawings of spare parts to release to sub-contractors for manufacture
- Update any incorrect quality plans and report any drawing issues
- Write concessions when required
- To teach any new starters/apprentices when required.
- Run improvement initiatives
- Provide support (technical or other) to any member of staff in your team
- Plus any other reasonable request.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in your working area.
- Ensure all guarding and safety equipment is in place and used when needed.
- Responsible for all health and safety in your area and ensuring all staff follow this policy.
- Personal protective equipment to be worn when required including safety glasses, steel toe cap boots etc.
- Report all health and safety or maintenance issues
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- Proficient in the setting of Bihler and stamping presses to a very high standard
- Proficient in the setting of CNC lathes
- Computer literate with good knowledge of our MRP system, IFS
- Supervisory and man management skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Motivated individual who is flexible and willing to learn continuous best practice
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and positive attitude.
- Excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail skills.
- Comfortable in being able work alone and/or within a team environment, contributing and sharing best practices, resources and ideas in order to continually improve.
- Have the ability to work to set standards and procedures.
