Description de l'emploi

IT engineer help to meet the employees needs for computer hardware, software and networking tools. Develop, test, install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware and software. As part of this process, he will be Creating proper documentation, diagrams and other detailed instructions to help other employees make the best use of new technologies, and he will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Exchange environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities.

The position requires 24/7 on call support availability.

Essential Functions

 

  • Install new hardware and software.
  • Cisco Networking LAN/WAN (cabling, switching, routing, configuring firewalls)
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
  • Hardware provisioning for new resources.
  • Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices and checking hardware to ensure functionality.
  • Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Setting up accounts for company employees with passwords and permissions.
  • Monitoring company’s systems for security as prime objective.
  • Fixing network faults.
  • Installing antivirus protection.
  • Coming up with IT solutions to fix company’s problems.
  • Ensuring staff is properly trained on new systems.
  • Back up, secure and protect data.
  • Record servers and services/applications logs and analyses them.
  • Install firewalls: application gateways and Access Control list packet filter
  • Escalate IT issues to the IT Manager where necessary
  • Responsible for managing backups
  • Undertake small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT Manager
  • Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
  • Setting up mailboxes and performing troubleshooting when necessary
  • Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements
  • Providing support for MAC and PC
  • Work extra hours to meet deadlines, as required and where reasonable
  • Provide assistance as required to the IT Manager
  • Provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
  • Prepare documents, meeting materials and correspondence
  • Perform basic administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives
  • Fair Knowledge in Exchange mail server, office 365, DNS, DHCP, fileserver, Print Server, windows server update Services (WSUS), Antiviruses SW, etc.
  • Knowledge in networking (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the IT Field as supporting computers, networks (Cisco Networking), Desktop (user’s assistance), Troubleshooting hardware, software, network problems, software installation and configuration, etc.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Cisco CCNA Certification.

Microsoft Certifications as MCSA, MCSE
