Ekuity Capital formerly known as the Tunisian-Kuwaiti Consortium of Development (CTKD), was established in 1976 initially to promote the Tunisian hospitality and tourism sector and expanded its activities over the last couple of decades.

The company is now considered one of the largest diversified investment institutions in Tunisia and has currently significant ownership interests in a portfolio of over 15 companies.

The opportunity

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated Operations Manager to join our investment department. You will be responsible for assisting the investment team during the different phases of the investment process by bringing your expertise gained during your professional experience mainly in the business transformation and operational excellence projects. The role involves working closely with the management teams of the portfolio companies to improve the operational efficiency of these companies.

This requires a deep understanding of operational best practices, financial analysis, and a strong communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with portfolio company management teams and other stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

 

 

During the screening phase :

▪ Perform regular research relating to maturity levels and operational issues of key players in the targeted sectors.

▪ Assist in defining Ekuity Capital's value proposition for targeted sectors.

During the deal phase :

▪ Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities to identify operational risks and opportunities for improvement.

▪ Identify in collaboration with Investee companies’ management teams operational excellence initiatives and transformation projects in areas such as: performance improvement, business process reengineering and back-office transformations, cost-optimization, IT/digitization transformations, cultural changes etc.

▪ Act as a trusted advisor to the top management of the potential investee company on business transformation topics.

▪ Assist in developing the value creation plan: consolidate strategic and operational initiatives that allow the potential investee company to achieve its business plan (prioritization of projects, sequencing over time, etc.)

▪ Put in place a structured process for the follow up and the monitoring of the value creation plan taking into account the context and the competencies available to the potential investee company.

During the post deal phase:

▪ Oversee and manage in collaboration with the portfolio companies' management teams the execution of the value creation plan including operational excellence initiatives and transformation projects.

▪ Provide operational expertise and guidance to portfolio companies to improve processes, procedures, and systems.

▪ Monitor portfolio companies' operational performance and taking corrective action as needed.

▪ Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements to increase portfolio companies' profitability.

▪ Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio companies' management teams and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for operational initiatives.

▪ Lead or support other strategic initiatives within the company as needed.

▪ Provide the deal team with ongoing value creation plan KPIs, reporting and updates.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

▪ Master’s degree in finance, business administration, engineering, or related disciplines from a leading university.

▪ 10+ years of related work experience within advisory/consulting firm or leading business transformation and operational excellence projects.

▪ Multi-sector and multi-functional knowledge and experience.

▪ Good knowledge of the Tunisian economic and business environment.

▪ Strong background in strategic thinking, organizational design, project management/project delivery & operational excellence.

▪ Excellent management, communication & interpersonal skills with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach.

▪ Strong emotional intelligence and ability to influence, motivate others and bring teams together around common objectives.

▪ Good balance between a structured detailed approach and flexibility & ability to adapt to change.

▪ Excellent analytical & problem-solving capabilities, good financial acumen, and a capacity for synthesis.

▪ Excellent communication & presentation (both written and oral), in English Arabic & French.

▪ Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/transactions simultaneously while maintaining deadlines.
